Inner Resources Mural–

The Inner Resources mural by Paul Botello, a large-scale acrylic on concrete artwork, underwent a complex conservation treatment.  Deterioration included a flaking and cloudy protective acrylic coating , powdery paint layers, and graffiti/vandalism.  Treatment involved careful mechanical cleaning using scalpels and ethanol, followed by consolidation of the powdery areas.  Retouching, in collaboration with the artist, and the application of a new, UV-resistant coating completed the process. The treatment aimed to preserve the mural's appearance and protect it from further deterioration while respecting its original aesthetic.
